Norwich - Robert Elliot Davidson, 65, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014, due to brain cancer.

He leaves his wife, Marjorie Blizard; his sister, Louise Davidson and husband, Bruce Miller, of Silver Spring, Md.; his brother, Steve Davidson and wife, Harriet, of Brookline, Mass.; and many friends and colleagues.
Robert was born in Baltimore in 1948. He graduated from Oberlin, completed his doctoral work at the University of Chicago, and post doctoral research at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
He has been a resident of Norwich since 1989.
Until his retirement in 2013, he was the executive director of the Eastern Regional Mental Health Board. He also served on numerous non-profit boards, including Bethsaida, DNEC, ADACC, Norwich Community Care Team, and served on the Ethics Commission of the City of Norwich.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Robert E. Davidson Fund, which will support the ERMHB in carrying on his work of advocacy and education on mental health issues.
