Antonio Ramirez Franco, 91, of Indio, Calif. passed away peacefully at his home, Oct. 5, 2013. Antonio was born on Dec. 18, 1921 in Tombstone, Ariz., to the late Antonio Verdugo Franco and Josefina Ramirez Franco. Antonio was a retired WWII combat veteran. He served his country in North Africa and Italy with the US Army from 1942 to 1944. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy J. Franco and two sons: Richard and Eddie Franco. He is survived by his children: Bobby Franco; Raymond Franco; Tony Franco Jr.; Paul Franco; Cynthia Franco-Romo; Billy Franco; Arthur Franco; Blanca Franco-Rodriguez, Omar Franco; Yvonne Franco and Bianca Franco-Garcia. He also leaves behind 38 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation services will be held at Forest Lawn Indio on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 at O.L.P.H in Indio, Calif. at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Coachella Valley cemetery in Coachella, Calif.
