Bobby George Caldwell was born to Robert and Louise Caldwell on June 22, 1935 in Athens, Tennessee. Bobby was the youngest of seven children born to this union. At age six, Bobby moved to Port Huron, Michigan. This is where he received his formal education. At age 18, Bobby enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF) stationed in Virginia. During his military service, Bobby traveled all across the world, including two tours in Vietnam and one in the Philippines. In 1974, Bobby married Ruby Ellzey. Both brought four children to this union creating a blended family which included: Kim, Nedra, Bobby, Audrey, Robin, Ahmad, Kevin, and Fred. Bobby and Ruby were also blessed with one child together, Tamara Caldwell. In 1974, Tech Sergeant Bobby Caldwell was honorably discharged after serving his country for 22 years. After retiring, Bobby joined Ruby for many years as self-employed entrepreneurs; franchising a Circle K, opening two businesses B & R Mini Mart and Ruby's Treasures. Bobby, also known as (Bob) was always described as a mild-mannered and laid back kind of a guy. Some of his favorite activities included fishing, cooking for his family, horse races, watching/attending sporting events, spending time with his children, grandchildren, his dog and little buddy "BO". Funeral Services will be held on January 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Love of Christ Community Church, 43601 Saguaro Street, Indio, CA 92201. Interment to follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m., 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
