Jeffrey Wayne Huffman
Jeffrey Wayne Huffman, 61, of La Quinta, Calif., passed away suddenly on Monday December 16, 2013. Jeff was born in Fullerton, Calif., on January 22, 1952. He graduated from Palm Springs High School in 1970 and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Cal-State Fullerton. Jeff worked as a substitute teacher for both the Palm Desert and Indio School Districts for a number of years. He was an Air Force Reserve Veteran, having joined the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed flying at an early age and received his pilot's license by the time he was 16. He later went on to complete his commercial license as well. Jeff always took joy in serving others. He was an Usher at Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church in Palm Desert, Calif. He was also a Free Mason, recently receiving the honor of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Jeff is survived by his son, Brian; brother, Mark; sister, Marcy and her husband Bruce; and many nieces and nephews. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Wayne; and his mother, Mrs. Norma Huffman, long time residents of Palm Springs, Calif. The family of Jeffrey Wayne Huffman wishes to thank all those who supported and gave encouragement throughout his life. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Forest Lawn, 69855 East Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Funeral services will also be held at Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, at 9:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2013 with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
