Vivian Stella Lynch was born to Lucy and Clarence Lynch in Flambeau, Wis. on September 28, 1924. On February 12, 1949 she married Edward William Boris in Cornell, Wis. She died in Walnut, Calif. on February 15, 2013, three days after their 64th wedding anniversary. Vivian is survived by her loving husband, her children and their families. Vivian received her RN degree at Dixon Hospital Training School in Illinois, worked at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and was Director of Nurse's Training at City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, Calif. from 1972-1982. While retired in La Quinta, Vivian regularly volunteered at Martha's Kitchen, and performed docent duties at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Those are the official dates and numbers but they don't begin to tell the beauty of Vivian Boris. During the course of the 88 years of her life on earth, she loved, supported, argued, laughed, prayed and danced with Eddie Boris through good times and bad, in sickness and in health until death did them part; she had six children whom she raised to be honest, hardworking, kind, curious and joyous people who knew how to act as ladies and gentlemen when they were called upon to do so; she was Nana to ten grandchildren, and Great-Nana to one; she opened her heart and welcomed with graciousness and affection into her family four sons and two daughters in-law. Finally, she extended her warmth and acceptance to all the friends too numerous to mention, and too important to Vivian to forget. Her death came after a long debilitating illness which took everything from her but her sense of humor, her grace and her kindness. Vivian loved the fifteen retirement years she and Eddie spent in La Quinta, Calif.; a lifetime of sun with family in Laguna Beach and Lake Arrowhead; Marty Robbins singing "El Paso," peanut brittle, and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Holcombe Wis. where she will be interred, as will Eddie when he joins her. They will lie peacefully alongside of her beloved parents. Vivian is survived by her husband, Edward William Boris; her children: Suzanne Chiarchiaro (Anthony), Kathryn Boris-Brown (Gregg), Daniel (Greta Howard), Patricia Boris-Swett (Daniel), William (Kim Palmer), Mary Jo Gomez (Anthony); Grandchildren: Jessica and Michael Chiarchiaro, Nicholas and Jacob Brown, Nathan and Luci Boris, Kortney and Kelsie Boris, Christopher and Lauren Gomez; and her first great grandchild, Scarlet Chiara Stockton.
