George Thomas Cummins Sr.

George Thomas Cummins Sr. died on January 15, 2014 in Post Falls Idaho. He was 88 years old. The son of Clessie Cummins and Ethel McCoy. Ethel McCoy died in 1925. George Thomas Cummins Sr. was the fifth child. His surviving brother Lyle was born to Clessie and Estelle. As a child he was raised during the growth of the Cummins Engine Co., which was started by his father, Clessie Cummins and W.G. Irwin a Columbus banker. The company has become one of the largest corporations and is in over 160 countries. During 95 Missions as a tail gunner in World War II, he was honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross. He also served in the Korean War. Living in Palm Springs he started the original "Exotic Car Service" specializing in Rolls Royce's, Lamborghinis, and Jaguars to name a few. George is being survived by Gerry, his loving companion of 31 years, his daughter, Nancie Lee Cummins and son, George Thomas Cummins, Jr. He was blessed with two children, six grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his wit and spontaneity throughout his life, while leaving every one with tears of laughter where ever he went. A celebration of his life will be held at 360 Bar and Grill, 360 North Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs at 4:00 PM on Saturday April 5th.
