Alemmett “Al” Bradley
Former Longtime Norwalk Resident
Alemmett “Al” Bradley, age 89, of Stratford passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Cameron, TX to the late Baxter and Emma Black Bradley, Alemmett has been a resident of Stratford for the past five years and prior to that he was a resident of Norwalk for over sixty years. He served his country during WWII in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. “Al” was employed thirty years as a truck driver/all around handy man for Trans-Lux. He was a member of the Paradise Green Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A son Craig Bradley and thirteen siblings predeceased him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Dorothy Darden Bradley of Stratford; a son Alan Bradley of Norwalk; six daughters Arlene Bradley and Laura Bradley - Lecky of Norwalk, Donna Bradley of E. Windsor, CT, Jacqueline Mapp of PA, Karen Bradley of NC and Sheila Bradley of FL; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Paradise Green Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3016 Main St., Stratford, CT with Brother Winston Orr, officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to the viewing, Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 5 - 7pm at Morton's Mortuary, Inc., 25 Margaret E.
