Newhart, Carl (Denny) Dennis

Carl, (Denny), Dennis Newhart, 73, residing in Boyertown, PA, passed away November 21, 2012 peacefully at his home. Denny was born March 6, 1939, in Ithaca, NY to Carl and Frances Newhart. He is survived by his wife Betty, brother Clifford (Tonya) Newhart and his wife and son Dennis J. (Julie) Newhart. Denny graduated from Ithaca High School and TC3 and subsequently taught culinary arts. He was a proud veteran and retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 of the United States Army who served in Vietnam. Denny had a passion for culinary arts and became an executive chef, working with his family for many years at Newhart's Lodge in Enfield NY. He was a volunteer firefighter, taught Culinary Arts at BOCES Ithaca and Johnson and Wales Connecticut and served with the Red Cross and FEMA. Later in his life he worked for the Veteran's Administration and gave his time cooking for the Boyertown's Senior Center. Denny was a member of the Tri-County Bible Church, the VFW, American Legion, and the Warrant Officer's Association. Denny was predeceased by Kathleen Newhart, his wife of 32 years, and daughters Debbie Newhart and Carol Newhart. He is survived by nieces Tammy and Heather and nephew Gabe, grandchildren Joseph and Ryan Reynolds, Dennis Jr., Brooke, and Nicholas Newhart, and great-grandson Jayden Willey. Services will be Thursday December 27th at 2pm at the Tri-county Bible Church on Grosser Road, Gilbertsville, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the VFW or Coatesville Veteran's Administration C/O Mr. Earl Johnson, Volunteer Service Office Building 5 Ground Floor at 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road in Coatsville PA 19320.
