Carolyn L. Lindquist, 85, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of North 24th St., Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Friday June 21, 2013 at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg. Born on September 1, 1927 in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rees and Adeline (Paul) Lloyd and was the widow of Roy Lindquist. Carolyn was a graduate of Camp Hill High School. She went on to graduate in 1949 from the Western College for Women, and then completed her Master's Degree in Education from Indiana University. She also took courses at Hunter College in New York and also studied Early Middle Ages at Cornell University. Carolyn spent 20 years in Germany Managing the Special Services Club. She was a guide and later a head guide at the United Nations in the 1950's. She had worked as a traveling salesman selling books for Hackers Art Books and also worked for Cornell Career Library. She was a member of Pi Lambda Theta and the American Assoc. of University Women. She is survived by her brother, James M. Lloyd, of Mechanicsburg; one nephew and two nieces, Carol Burk and Charmin. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Mays. All funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Village, 325 Wesley Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
