Mr. James Combs, age 80 of Clarksville and formerly of Elkton, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his home of natural causes.

Mr. Combs was born August 6, 1933 in Clifty, Kentucky, the son of William Ray and Ella Louise Rager Combs. He was a member of the Trenton Crossing Church of Christ in Clarksville and formerly a member of the Clifty Church of Christ in Clifty. He was a Korean War Veteran and served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Jennie Stuart Medical Center Volunteers, the Montgomery County Veterans Transportation and the Trenton Crossing Church of Christ Ramp Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as one son, Tom Combs and two brothers, Cecil Ray and Doug Combs.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Combs of Clarksville; three sons, Tony Combs of Sharon Grove, Tim Combs of Russellville and Mike Combs of Bowling Green; two daughters, Kelly Riley of Plainfield, Indiana and Jennifer Downs of Clarksville; two sisters, Ruthell Garrett and Martha Settle, both of Clifty; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation with the Combs family will be on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m., at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home, with Rev. Phil Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at the Heltsley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Montgomery County Veterans Transportation, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 308, Clarksville, TN 37040.
