DAVID LEROY
PRESCOTT, 78

LAKELAND - David Leroy Prescott was born November 21, 1935 in Lake Village, Arkansas, to Hoyt & Sarah Prescott. He went to be with the Lord due to heart failure on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at age 78.
Dave Prescott is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Barbara Anne (Lane) Prescott and his three sons, Charles, of Powell, TN, David, Jr., of Sanford, FL, and Jerry of Lakeland, FL. He had ten grandchildren: Andrew, Stephanie, Michelle, Tracey, Timmy, Christine, Jacque, Joey, Jimmy, and Jayne, as well as three great-grandchildren: Micah, Ivan and Miguel.
David graduated from the University of Miami in 1961 with a BBA in Aviation Management. He was a Marine Corp. veteran, serving during the Korean War, and also served as President of the Sertoma Club of Winter Springs and as Chairperson of NACM. He and his son Jerry formed Prescott and Associates, from which Liberty Septic, Liberty Plumbing, and Crystal Construction were born. Dad trusted Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1945 at the age of 10; Ire was led to the Lord by a circuit riding evangelist and was baptized in a creek in Arkansas.
Papa will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him so very much. We are all so thankful for a life well-lived and a man who loved his family with all of his heart. We will see him again in the resurrection discussed in 1 Thess. 4:13-18. He is now safe in the arms of our LORD JESUS in GLORY, waiting to see us again.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 in the First Alliance Church at 1919 E. Edgewood Dr., Lakeland, Fl. The viewing will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the memorial service at 10:30 AM.
