GEORGE W.
BECKNER, 95

LAKE WALES - George W. Beckner, age 95, of Westerville, passed away by natural causes, Sunday November 24, 2013 at the Village of Westerville. Born September 25, 1918 in Miamisburg, OH. Retired from D.E.S.C. in Dayton, OH.
Preceded in death by wife, Jeanne (Baker) Beckner and sister Frances Hayes. Veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Air Corps, he was shot down, a POW in Stalag Luft III and awarded the Purple Heart. George was an avid golfer with friends everywhere.
Survived by son, Richard (Linda) Beckner of Westerville; grandchildren, Krista (Doug) Robinson of Scottsdale, AZ and Kara (Derek) Evans of Worthington, OH; 4 great grandchildren, Kyle Beckner and Rowan Beckner-Evans, Isabella and Aidan Robinson.
Private services will be held in Miamisburg, Ohio. Arrangements by the Moreland Funeral Home Westerville, OH.
