WINTER HAVEN - George Willard Hatfield, 79, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 due to diabetes.
George Willard Hatfield was born January 20, 1934 in Kinmundy, IL. Mr. Hatfield was a US Army veteran and spent 2 years in Germany. He has been a lifelong resident of Winter Haven where he worked for Plibrico Sales and Service as a brick mason. He is a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winter Haven and the Winter Haven Moose Lodge. He loved fishing, vacationing at his cottage on Little Gasparilla Island and doing anything outdoors. He was very creative with his hands and enjoyed shell crafting as well. He will be remembered as the most honest person you could have met.
Mr. Hatfield is preceded in death by his parents William and Louise Hatfield, brother William H. Hatfield and sister Helen Connor (Colonel John Conner, U.S. Air Force). He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Marge Hatfield, daughter Sheri Woodard, daughter Jennifer Jarvis, all of Winter Haven, grandchildren PFC Cody Woodard (US Army), Alissa Jarvis and Kayla Jarvis.
The memorial service will be held Monday, October 14, 2013 at 10:30am at Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church's Music Department, Winter Haven, FL.
