WINTER HAVEN - Kay Mitchell Potaczala, age 63, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at her home from a battle with breast cancer. Born in Deland, FL, on July 19, 1951, Kay was the daughter of Missy Mitchell (deceased) and Harry E. Mitchell (deceased).
Kay's life was a testimony to kindness and humility. She lived each day in service to others, family, friends, even strangers who will remember her generous spirit and heart which touched their lives in immeasurable ways. Serving others in Meals on Wheels and Bible study groups were community efforts over the years through which many came to know her. But, her greatest gift was unconditional love for her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her husband of 41 years, Andy Potaczala, Winter Haven; sister, Beverly Mitchell, Woodstock, GA; brother, Bill Mitchell (Jeanne), Alpharetta, GA; daughter, Jill Gawlik (Mark); daughter, Lori Morse (David); and 5 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday, August 16th, at 9:30am at Steele's Family Funeral Service, 207 Burns Lane, Winter Haven, FL, 33884.
