WINTER HAVEN - Kenneth Walter Berner of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on Monday, July 15th, 2013 at the age of 88, due to natural causes.

Ken attended Concordia Lutheran High School, and was later drafted into the Army during World War II. Ken attended Purdue University under the GI Bill, and received his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering, going on to work at International Harvester in Fort Wayne Indiana.
He married Sharon Faurote in 1957, and together they had 3 daughters, Mary Beth Monnier, (husband Ken), Becki Wolfe, (husband Mike), and Kim Thurlow (husband Jon).
Ken continued his employment with IH, advancing in various management positions until his retirement after 31 years in 1976. Ken divorced in 1982. Ken enjoyed living on the water, and for many years had a summer home on Coldwater Lake, Michigan, with his Winter Haven home for all the rest of the year. He joined The Lamb Of God Lutheran Church in Haines City where he found real joy in his many years in the choir. Ken met Qui Danh Huynh in 1983, and they married after 3 years of courtship. Ken and Qui enjoyed 27 wonderful wedded years together, traveling, golfing, volunteering time to help others, spending time with friends, and visiting with their combined family which had grown to 6 children, (including Khoa Huynh, wife Chi, Khoi Huynh, wife Olga, and Alice Huynh), 9 grandchildren, (Lou, Kay, husband Mike, Ken, Katie, Will, Emilie, Ian, Bryant and Sarah), and 1 great granddaughter (Lydia).
