LAKELAND - Peggy J. Conroy, 73, a lifelong resident of Lakeland, passed away at her home on Thursday, Mar. 14, due to heart failure, following a long illness.
Peggy was born in Lakeland to her parents Edward and Aleene Ballard. She attended Kathleen High School, before moving to the Miami area, and working for over 30 years as a waitress. After Hurricane Andrew, Peggy moved to Colorado where she lived for 10 years before coming back to Lakeland in 2002.
Peggy was a member of St. Anthony Church, and enjoyed making Christmas decorations, gourmet cooking at home, and "working out."
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael; a son, Michael (Michele) of Houston, TX; two daughters, Diana Franks (Lee) of New Port Richey, Patty Brewis (Billy) of Colorado; three brothers, Gary Ballard, Jimmy Ballard and Bobby Ballard; a sister, Oma Lee Parsons; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her "Missy".
Friends are invited to the visitation at Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Mike Mallatt officiating.
