AUBURNDALE - Mr. Preston Byron Bailey, age 95, a resident of Auburndale passed away Tues. Dec. 11, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice Residential Center in Auburndale due to natural causes.
Mr. Bailey was born June 19, 1917 in Colquitt, GA. to Preston and Bertha (Rentz) Bailey. He was an Auburndale resident since 1958 coming from GA. He was a laborer in the road paving industry and a United States Army veteran serving in WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert; brother Roscoe; 2 sisters Florine & Annie Lou and grandson Derek.
Preston is survived by his loving family: son: Wesley B. (Marie) Bailey, 4 daughters: JoAnne (Jerry) Stokes, both of Auburndale, Diane (Dennis) Stokes of Port Charlotte, FL, Freddie (Kenny) Barfield, Marilyn Bailey, both of Auburndale, brother: Earl (Margarite) Bailey of Watkinsville, GA, sister: Carolyn Ward of GA, 11 grandchildren: Stephanie, Lisa, Wayne, Kenneth, Christopher, Angela, Paula, Alisha, Denny, Jessica & Amy, 23 great grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 11:30AM Thurs. Dec. 13, 2012 at the Auburndale Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Thurs. Dec. 13, 2012 from 10:00 till 11:00 AM at the Kersey Funeral Home.
