As a follower of Christ, Roy lived as a godly example to his family and friends by serving others. Known as an all-around handyman, he spent most of his time fixing sprinkler heads, door locks, light fixtures, clogged drains, screen doors & windows and anything else in the park that required a tool to fix. As a longtime member of his church, he became known as "The #1 Bus Driver" for many of their Sunday School class and church trips, and served as an usher for many years as well. He was a faithful husband, loving father, proud grandfather and trusted friend. He will be missed by all.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM April 26, 2014 at Winter Haven Baptist Church, 1500 Dundee Road, Winter Haven, FL 33884. In lieu of flowers, you may choose to make a donation in Roy's memory to the Winter Haven Baptist Church, Ecuador Mission Fund. This will help with construction of a church in Ecuador.
