I took lessons with Benjamin in the early 1970s, in Lakeland. Just tried to look him up, and found this. Endings are always so sad, but every great piece must eventually end. Go with God, my old friend and teacher.

I am so sorry to hear of Benjamin's passing. We met at the UUB a few years back and played music for the services. It was so nice to connect with another NCSA/NC native in Basel and to make music together. All best wishes,

To the family - My heart, love, prayers, and embraces go out to each one of you. There is no one to take his place, but we have his memories, music, joy, and the contributions he made to music as well as to our lives.
To Benjamin .... my dear friend since school days and over so many years .... I know you live on and I know you hear me ... Thank you for all the musical moments you gave to me ... from HS, Rotary, parties, and your visits to our house when you were home ... Thank you for our conversations ... Thank you for the concerts you gave to Lakeland ... Thank you for the positive outlook you kept in the midst of your illness ... God is receiving a dear child into The Kingdom.

Dear Family and Friends,
I was shocked to see Benjamin's notice in the paper. He performed flawlessly at Bok Tower Gardens on several occasions and at First United Methodist. I've enjoyed listening to his recordings ever since. He was a fine role model for his students.
My heart goes out to his lovely and talented wife and daughters.
With deepest sympathy,
Jeff
