WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Raymond Otis Bice, Jr., age 89, born Feb. 5, 1926; died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at his home. He was born and died in Winter Haven, FL, where his great grandfather was the first doctor.
With six generations of his family attending First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven, Mr. Bice's family dates further back than any family in that church.
He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Business Administration and received his Master's Degree from USF in the same field. He was self-employed in the citrus industry. He also was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He volunteered with the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, most of his children's activities and was a volunteer umpire for Little League Baseball for years. He even won the Volunteer of the Year Award for Polk County Schools.
Mr. Bice was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn T. Bice; sister Claire Steinle; brother Robert Bice; great granddaughter Megan Barrow. He is survived by his daughters Lynn Bice Lasseter Kenny , Lee Bice Susdorf Gary ; son Raymond Otis Bice III Margi ; sister Jean Bice, Cashier, N.C.; grandchildren Kelly, Adam, Robert, Marie, Leigh, Brent, Brian; great grandchildren Cameron, Callie, Sophia, Ava, Rachel, Hannah, Hunter and Hayden.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church, Winter Haven.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven.
