CRESCENCIO OLIVEIRA Jr. Obituary
CRESCENCIO OLIVEIRA JR. Crescencio Oliveira, Jr., 79, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, in Corpus Christi, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was born September 25, 1933 to Crescencio Oliveira, Sr. and Velia Garcia Oliveira in Benavides, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife Ernestina "Tina" F. Oliveira, four daughters, Nilda Garcia (Baldemar), Velma Delgado (George), from Kingsville, Texas, Sylvia Culver (Ricky) from Huntsville, Texas and Marlena Faulkner (David) from Austin, Texas, and six grandchildren, George "Ricky" Delgado, from San Antonio, Texas, Michael Delgado, from Austin, Texas Nidia Garcia, from Austin, Texas, Bryan Garcia and Katrina Culver attending the Texas A&M University in College Station and Karly Culver from Huntsville, Texas. He is also survived by three sisters, Lydia Canales, and Bertha Pendleton, from Benavides, Texas and Elda Mendez (Roy) from Corpus Christi, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Oliveira worked 35 years for the federal government as a firefighter supporting the US Navy. By his retirement in 1987 he had been promoted to Assistant Fire Chief and had served two tours of duty in Bermuda, one in Rota Spain and served at the Naval Air Station in Kingsville Texas. He and his wife retired to Edinburg, Texas where they lived for 25 years and had recently moved back to Kingsville to be closer to their daughters. Oliveira lived a full life where he was able to serve his country and his family, both of which brought him much joy. Rosary will be held at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Kingsville, Texas on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas. Sign the guest book at www.themonitor.com/obituaries
