DENNIS EUGENE CARNES Obituary
DENNIS EUGENE CARNES MISSION - What we thought was a simple cough; tests revealed that Dennis had terminal cancer. On Friday, February 28, 2014, Dennis E. Carnes of Mission, Texas, went to be with the Lord. He was surrounded in love by his family. We were fortunate enough to be there as he took his last breath. He was 70 years of age. Dennis was born on April 10, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio. In 1966 Dennis was married in Monroe, Michigan to Rosie Lara. He proudly served as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. He worked as a professional truck driver for most of his life and then retired from the City of McAllen Public Works as a Waste Management Supervisor. Dennis is preceded in death by his dad Joseph Donald Carnes, mother Ruth Carnes and brother Jim Carnes. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rosie Carnes, along with his 3 children Denice Carnes, David Carnes, Teresa and Shon Comparin, his 9 grandchildren, Eric Soto, Angelica Ramirez, Aaron Soto, Ilianna Carnes, Mikayla Comparin, Christopher Carnes, Jedidiah Comparin, Sadie Carnes, and his 2 great-granddaughters, Zoefia Ramirez and Emerson Soto (due in June 2014); 1 sister, Joann Poleski. Dennis was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Everyone that met him loved him. He was always happy and greeted everyone with a big smile. He was a Godly example and led life with a big heart. While he was always there to help you out in times of need great or small, they all included words of wisdom and encouragement. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. Heaven rejoices as Dennis Eugene Carnes has arrived. The viewing will be held from 1:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, March 4th, 2014, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, 621 East Griffin Parkway Mission, Texas 78574. A memorial service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission is in charge of arrangements.
