JAMES STEWART RISNER James Stewart Risner, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was called home by the Lord on June 13, 2013, at the age of 67. He was born on October 12, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio to Roland and Mary (Blackburn) Risner. James served his country honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway and USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War. For the last 30 years he and his family lived in Concord, CA. He served as a police officer in McAllen, TX for many years. Jim loved hunting, fishing and traveling. He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Risner and his brother, Daniel Risner. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra Risner; mother, Mary Risner; daughter, Stephanie Godinez; and son, James Risner and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Ricky, Nathan, Lillie and Abby Godinez; and Rowan James and Kingston Risner; sisters, Rosemary Isaacs and husband Ray, Karen Stansell, Debbie Rose and husband Roy; brother, David Risner and wife Autumn; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held on Friday June 21, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio. Interment followed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd.
