OSCAR L. OCHOA Sr. Obituary
OSCAR L. OCHOA SR. ALTON - Oscar L. Ochoa Sr., 88, entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 29, 2012 surrounded by his family at The Comfort House in McAllen. Our Dad was born to Nasario and Rosalia Ochoa in 1924. He served in the Army during WWII from 1943-1946 as a Sgt. in Company C 96th Chemical Battalion, and received the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, and one Bronze Service Star. He worked at Reynolds Manufacturing Co. until his retirement. He was a member of San Marin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton where he served as the first Board President and was a lector. He was also a member and past post commander of the CVW Post 1065 in Mission. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Alberta C. Ochoa, four sons and one daughter, Oscar L. (Elena) Ochoa Jr., Omar H. (Margo) Ochoa, Orlando N. Ochoa, Olivia I. Ochoa, and Orville J. (Michelle) Ochoa. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Liza I. Ochoa, Santiago Noe Ochoa, Bianca B. Ochoa, and Rian O. Ochoa and one brother Osvaldo Ochoa Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ofelia Cantu, and his brothers, Octavio Hernandez, Alejandro Ochoa Sr., and Francisco Ochoa Sr. We ask that donations be made to The Comfort House, 617 Dallas Ave., McAllen, Texas in our father's name. We love you dad and we will miss you always. We will take care of mom for you. Thank you for being our dad and for all your unconditional love. Rest in Peace Apa. For he who sheds his blood with me today shall be my brother." - Shakespeare Visitation was held Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and today Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Flores Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral mass will be officiated Monday, December 3, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
