Donald L. Markin

WOODVILLE: Donald L. Markin, age 83, of Woodville, OH passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Regency Hospital, Toledo, OH.

He was born on June 21, 1930 in Gibsonburg, OH to Jesse and Hazel (Peoples) Markin. On January 27, 1954 he married Sally Ann Klinck in Fremont, OH and she survives. Don was a furnace repairman for Toledo Machining Plant/ Chrysler, Perrysburg, OH. He served his country proudly while enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. Don was a member of the former Clarence L. Nieman American Legion Post # 455, Woodville, OH. In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, being outdoors and spending time in the woods.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Sally; daughters: Cindy (Dale) Gregory of Waterville, OH, Aimee (Jeff) Frey of Woodville, OH; grandchildren: Heidi (Brian) Holub, Amber McKown; three great grandchildren; sisters: Thelma Smith, Mary Conger, Lola Rewaldt and brother: Gerald Markin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 10AM - 12PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Woodville, OH where funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon. Officiating will be Rev. Carol Williams-Young. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville. A bereavement luncheon will be served at Woodville United Methodist Church, Woodville immediately following the cemetery committal services.
