TIFFIN: Lucille Elsie Stansberry, 88, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday morning, February 11, 2014 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born on January 12, 1926, in Fremont, Ohio, to John E. and Clara K. (Meyer) Gressman.

Survivors include her son, Donald L. (Paula) Stansberry of Fremont; two daughters, Sandra K. Stansberry of Tiffin and Vickie L. (Dan) Ash of Milbury; two brothers, John E. Gressman, Jr. and Donald W. (Marlene) Gressman, both of Fremont; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Stacy C. "Chuck" Stansberry in 2009 and Norman J. Stansberry in 1956; daughter, Theresa A. Scalf in 1983; an infant daughter; brother, Norman J. Gressman; sister, Janet K. Gallo; and one great grandson.

Lucille graduated in 1943 from Fremont Ross High School, was a member of First Presbyterian Church and retired as a winder from General Electric after 31 years; where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club and GE Retirees. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Tiffin Women of the Moose #846, the Tiffin Eagles Aerie #402 and various other clubs. Lucille enjoyed gardening, flowers and playing Bingo.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Ken Wessler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may visit with the family from 2-8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the funeral home. The V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary will conduct services at 3:30 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to Volunteers of Autumnwood Care Center Activities Fund.
