Joseph Robert Elliott

Joseph Robert "Joe" Elliott born in Angola, Indiana, on Nov. 16, 1924, departed Apr. 18, 2014. Funeral services for Joseph Robert "Joe" Elliott, age 89 a retired farmer and businessman of Oak Grove, will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Thomas Jason Lingo Center in Oak Grove. Reverends Mark Elliott and Roy Williams will officiate. George Fox will offer a eulogy. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Homes of Oak Grove.

Mr. Elliott served his country in the Korean War. He was a sergant first class with the 25th Infantry Division. He received the Combat Infanty Badge, Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Martin Elliott of Oak Grove, Louisiana; son, Danny Elliott of Oak Grove; son and his special friend, David Elliott and Denise Pace of Oak Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Toni Elliott of Columbia, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Reggie Prine of Oak Grove; daughter and her fiancee, Matilda Stephens and Frank Sampognaro of Monroe, Louisiana; son and his special friend, Phillip Elliott and Christy Kelly of Oak Grove; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are: Ryan Elliott, Elliott Prine, Blake Elliott, Robert Elliott, Fletcher Stephens, Reggie Prine, Frank Sampognaro, Wayne Martin and Ed Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Joe Martin, Jimmy Martin, Danny Elliott, David Elliott, Mark Elliott and Phillip Elliott.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 19, 2014 and again on Sunday, April 20, 2014 between the hours of 4 to 8 PM at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Louisiana.
