Willie Richard Braddock

Willie Richard Braddock, formerly of Monroe, Louisiana passed away in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was born on November 8, 1928, in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating from high school in Mer Rouge, he served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service he worked as a brick mason. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. He served as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service from 1965 until his retirement.

Willie was an avid lover of the outdoors. He especially enjoyed bow hunting and duck hunting. He was a masterful chef specializing in grilled steaks and barbecued chicken, but he considered his barbecue sauce to be the height of his culinary skills.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents William and Clara Braddock; his brother James Braddock; and his sister Lena Wallace.

He is survived by his two sons, John Braddock and his wife Kathy, James Braddock and his wife Jacqueline; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, William and Emma Braddock.

He is also survived by his brothers William Braddock and Thomas Braddock and sisters Martha Ramsden, Louise Forbes, Dorothy Goudeau, Pearl Thigpen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 9th of March at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe, Louisiana 71201. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held at 605 Louisville Avenue, Monroe, Louisiana.
