Grace M. Resop, age 89, of Berlin, died peacefully on Monday evening February 17, 2014 at the Berlin Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was a life long member of the Berlin community and was a graduate of Berlin high school with the class of 1942.
Grace married Harold P. Resop on November 24, 1945 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Berlin, upon his return from serving his country proudly during WWII.
They were blessed with 4 children and shared 66 loving years together; before Harold's death on May 6, 2012.
Grace found joy in being a homemaker, her potato pancakes and sticky popcorn was always a favorite, along with her pies. Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She also enjoyed her "soapy's" on tv. She was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church, of Berlin.
Grace is survived by her children, Nancy (Bill) Neubauer, Debra Ann Gerth, and Steve Resop (Patti Lewellyn), all of Berlin; sister-in-law, Barbara Resop, of Berlin; her grandchildren, Rob Neubauer (Kristie Krause), Lisa (Adam) Mlodzik, Ken Neubauer (Erica Berkshire), Brian Schmid, Jordan Gerth (Samantha Calabresa); and great-grandchildren, Alex, Gracie, and Cora Neubauer; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Grace was preceded in death by; her parents, dear husband Harold, son, Kenneth, brothers, Alvin and, Raymond, sisters; Gertrude, Isabelle, and Margaret.
Funeral services, with the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin. The Very Rev. Jerome Maksvytis will officiate. Burial will follow at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery of Berlin.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. a parish rosary will be recited at 6:45 p.m. Also before we leave for Church on Friday morning from 9 until 10 a.m.
Immediately following the services at the cemetery all are invited to the Berlin V.F.W Hall for a luncheon and fellowship with the family.
