Rosa Katz passed away in her home with her family by her side on February 2, 2013, in Riverside, California. Rosa was born on May 6, 1924 in Lodz, Poland. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brother, and husband. She is survived by her sons, Arthur (Susan), Milwaukee, WI.; and Mark (Jan) Corona, CA; daughters, Ruth Grubb, Corona, CA.; and Marilyn (Mark) Dorschner, Oshkosh, WI; grandchildren, Sarah (Ross) Wollenhaupt, Dan (Roxanne) Katz, Michael (Andrea) Katz, Ryan Dorschner, and Sydney Dorschner; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Rosa was a Holocaust survivor and she spent much of her adult life speaking at schools and other public events re-telling the first hand story of the Holocaust with the hopes this dark period of history is never forgotten or repeated. Rosa also worked as a nurse's aide for Mercy Medical Center. Rosa's courage, dedication to her family, and desire to help others will leave a lasting impression on all that knew her. She was loved and cherished and will be missed. We would like to thank all the caregivers that helped take care of our mother in her final years. A memorial will be set up at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. Burial and a memorial service will be held on June 7, at Lakeview Cemetery at 10 a.m.
