Duane Bryan Day March 12, 1931 - June 14, 2013 Born to MB and Ruth Day, Duane was raised in Lacey, WA. He attended the following schools: Lincoln Grade, Old Lacey Grade, Olympia High School, St. Martin's College & University of Washington where he was an outstanding pitcher and placekicker. He served the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Lorraine Kaija, his college sweetheart and moved to CA where he had a long and successful career. Duane loved baseball, playing well into his 70's. He coached little league for many years and was a supporter of Sacramento State Athletics. He was an active member of Fair Oaks Rotary. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; sons Derek and Brandon (Debbie); 5 grandchildren; brother, Howard; sisters Joan, Sherry, Dana, Shannon (Bill), Erin (David) and Dorian (Lance). He was preceded in death by his parents. Duane was a person of high moral standards and a wonderful son, big brother to his siblings, husband, father and grandfather. Duane will be greatly missed by all who knew him. There is a scheduled private memorial and Duane will be laid to rest at Forest Memorial Garden in Olympia.
