Harriett Braun Gray Harriett Braun Gray, 86, passed away on May 1, 2014. She lived in the greater-Olympia area for the past 18 years. Harriett is survived by her husband, Lee E. Gray; daughter, Katharine "Kitty" Gray Carlsen (Roy) of Olympia, WA; son, Robert P. "Rip" Gray (Marcia) of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Carlsen Wilson of Olympia, WA, Britta Carlsen of Honolulu, HI, and Kyle Gray of Richmond, VA; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Lila Wilson. Harriett was born in Seattle, WA, on November 9, 1927. She was the first student to graduate in drama from Seattle's Roosevelt High School, Class of 1945; she then attended the University of Washington. In September 1947, she married her high school sweetheart, Lee. The couple lived in California and eastern Washington before moving to Kirkland, WA, where they built their own home and lived for nearly 30 years. Before moving to Olympia, they owned The Victorian House Bed and Breakfast and an antique shop on Whidbey Island. Harriett loved to move and travel; she also loved children, celebrations and time with her family. She was an accomplished actress with a passion for learning about the lives of others. Harriett was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Harriett was preceded in death by her parents, Paul J. and Merle Thomason Braun of Kirkland, WA; and her sister, Sylvia Braun Westberg, of Seattle, WA.
