Katherine Trendler Katherine Ann Kruse Trendler died on August 28, 2014, at the age of 73. Wife, mother, grandmother - and for her family and many hundreds of children, teacher. Kathy was totally committed to learning, and cared for and nurtured her students with the same affection and love she had for her family. In Washington she was an elementary school teacher at Olympia's Pioneer Elementary School. Earlier she taught in the states of Rhode Island, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. Kathy Trendler was born in Neenah, Wisconsin. Her bachelor's degree was received from Carroll College, in Wisconsin. She earned her master's degree at Indiana University. She continued her graduate studies in Rhode Island and Washington. Kathy Trendler loved to sail in the San Juan Islands and travel with Carl, her husband of 51 years, camp with her family, and be a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren. Among her favorite hobbies and activities were swimming, sailing, reading and knitting. She is survived by Carl and their daughters, Linda Trendler, Brenda Trendler Long, their son, Brian, and their spouses, Daniel Long and Lisa Trendler; her grandchildren, Morgan and Spencer Long, Fiona and Calvin Trendler; and her brother, Wayne Kruse.
