Laurel A. Willis Laurel A. Willis, of Olympia died December 15, 2013 at her winter home in Yuma, Ariz. after a lengthy illness. She was 85. Mrs. Willis was born on April 16, 1928 in Tacoma where she raised her four children. She had previously lived in Shelton, serving as the executive director of the Shelton Mason County Chamber of Commerce between 1990 and 1996. In that role she led planning for the annual Shelton Christmas parade and was deeply involved in the Mason County Forest Festival. At the time of her death Mrs. Willis was surrounded by her loving family, including her husband of 47 years, Tom, her son and daughter-in-law Brad and Linda Owen of Shelton, her daughter Angela Owen of Tenino and son Greg Owen of Kent. She was preceded in death by her son Cameron. A public remembrance will be at 1:00 p.m. on January 18, 2014 at the Shelton Elks Lodge.
