ROYALTON - Earl "Sonny" Fairley, of O'Fallon, Mo., formerly of Royalton, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the age of 84 after battling cancer.

He was the loving husband of the late Nadine Fairley; beloved son of the late Thomas and Gertrude Fairley; father of Tonya (John) Calcaterra; adoring grandfather of Hope (Craig) Woodson and Witli Cobin; dear brother of Marie (Erv) Coppi and Dolores Dougherty; loving uncle and friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Fairley (nee: McCollum).

Sonny proudly served his country during the Korean War as a soldier in the United States Army. After his time in the service, he worked as a conservation officer for the State of Illinois for 24 years. His last three years of life were spent living with his cherished granddaughter Hope.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, in Royalton Church of the Nazarene, at 100 North Fairdale St.
