HARRISBURG -- JoAnn Theodora Cooper, 70, of rural Harrisburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 5:30 p.m. Sun-day, Oct. 27, 2013, at home.

She was born Sunday, Aug. 8, 1943, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph Raymond and Ann Julie (Kiauky) Charaska.
JoAnn grew up in Chicago (Marquette Park) and was an honors graduate of Maria High School. She continued her education, graduating with honors in 1973 from the University of Illinois of Chicago.
JoAnn was united in marriage to Edmund Lynn Cooper on Aug. 19, 1967, in Nativity BVM Chicago.
She served from 1966 to 1967, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force.
JoAnn worked for many years as a manufacturing distribution manager. In her spare time, she enjoyed expressing her talents creating Lithuanian carved eggs, painting murals as well as sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edmund L. Cooper of Harrisburg; her daughter, Celeste Cooper-Krueger of Harrisburg; two grandsons, Anthony Krueger and Phillip Krueger, both of Woodstock; three brothers, Joseph, Jerry and John Charaska; and sister, Julie Ann Charaska.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
According to her wishes, there will be no public services.
Arrangements for JoAnn Theodora Cooper have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home at 900 N. Court St. in Marion.
