GORHAM - Meyrl D. Lindsey, 74, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his residence in Gorham.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, in Goodbread Cemetery, with the Rev. Andrew Mifflin officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Meyrl was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Gorham, to Henry Oscar Lindsey and Hattie (Brown) Lindsey.
He had served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.
Mr. Lindsey had been a former prison guard and a Murphysboro police officer and he had worked as a carpenter.
Meyrl married Sharazon Carver on November 4, 1961, in Granite City, Illinois, and she survives.
Other survivors include four children, Michael Lindsey, Marlene Loera and her husband, Joe Loera, Eric Lindsey and his wife, Rhonda, Lindsey, and Kenneth Lindsey and his wife, Jennifer Lindsey; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one brother, Charles Lindsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Everett and Delmar Lindsey and three sisters, Wilma Porter, Delores Hudson, and Charlene Lindsey.
