DU QUOIN - Michael R. Prusacki, 83, passed away at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Mike was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mike was a member of Perry County Farm Bureau.
He was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Tamaroa, the son of Mike S. and Rose (Nikrant) Prusacki.
He married Rosalea Strauch on Sept. 5, 1959, in Christopher, and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Prusacki of Du Quoin and Connie Prusacki of Tamaroa; nieces; nephews; and godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bernice (Tom) Nowakowski and Laverne (Arthur) Kabat; and two brothers, Ralph Prusacki and Leon Prusacki.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Nick Junker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites conducted by Du Quoin VFW, American Legion and Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Rosary will be prayed at 12:50 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Friends may make memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
