Donald Wallace Murdock, age 85 passed away June 18, 2013 in Cedar City, Utah due to complications from Alzheimer's. Don was born on May 24, 1928 in Beaver, UT to Wallace Smith Murdock & Wanda Stoney Murdock. Graduated from Beaver High School then served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948 on the USS Pasadena. Then he worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a lineman, later as a central office repairman, and retired in 1983. At that time he joined the Iron County Sherriff's Department as a constable. Don was a member of the Iron County Search and Rescue, Cedar City Lion's Club, American Legion, and he served the Cedar City community as Santa Clause for many years. Don married Colleen Bess on April 22, 1950 and was sealed in the St. George Temple on June 27, 1964. Don is survived by his Children; Marilyn (John) Parker, Kaye Lynn Hunter, Brenda (Gary) Gillins, Robert (Susan) Murdock, Joanie (Robby) Chase. A Sister Carma (Art) Claerhout, Brother in Law; Keith Bess and Sister in Laws; LaRue Rowley and Marie Wheeler, 16 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife and Sister; Lela Rae Messer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Cedar City, at the LDS 6th Ward Chapel (1650 W Center Street). Viewing will be Friday evening 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. both at the church. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery.
