ElRoy Monroe Gollaher Jr. passed away from this life on August 1, 2013 in Washington, Utah. He was born on October 5th, 1942, in Los Angeles, California to ElRoy Sr. and Belva Gollaher. At that time he was considered a "World War II Baby" while his father was serving in the Aleutian Islands. After the war they moved back to Southern Utah.

ElRoy was raised in Southern Utah. He was the oldest of two sisters and one brother: Daris, Mary, and Delbert (DA). Growing up in St. George he had many friends as well as many relatives to enrich his life. Later he quit school, joined the Air Force and served stateside for 4 years. After the Air Force he returned and earned his diploma.

His family moved to Henderson, Nevada where he met his wife to be, Kathrine Farnworth. They were married and sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on January 27, 1968. They have four beautiful children: Kerrie, Matthew (George), Joseph, and Jason. ElRoy spent his time tinkering on cars and enjoyed racing them. He was a mechanic by trade and taught his sons to fix their own cars. His passion was going to the St. George Temple where he was a part time Ordinance worker from 1991 to 2010. ElRoy was a friend to everyone, even the dogs in the neighborhood. He wanted to make sure that everyone got along fine and helped those he could. He and his wife loved to travel and see new roads and sights. They were able to enjoy many of the National Parks and monuments as well as many historical sites.

The last few years, his health became difficult for him. He worked through his health issues as best he could and he had family there to help him. Now his health will no longer be a burden.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father, ElRoy Monroe Gollaher Sr. ElRoy is survived by his wife and children, his mother: Belva, and siblings. Eight grandchildren: Misty, Jenna, Dustin, Vanessa, Melissa, Lucas, Macen, and adopted grandchild Rosalie and two great-grandchildren: Isabella and Raina.

A visitation and funeral service were held on Monday, August 5 at 1 p.m. at the Washington LDS Stake Center in Washington, Utah. Interment was at the Washington City Cemetery.
