Jerry McAffee

Jerry was born August 19, 1932 to Reed and Vera McAffee. He passed away very peacefully at his home in Washington, Utah, surrounded by family on August 10, 2014.

He was born in Salina, Utah and lived in Manti Utah as a child. Due to his father's employment the family moved to southern California settling in Harbor City. There he attended elementary and High School. After graduating from Narborne High School he attended BYU graduating in 1951. The Korean War was going and he enlisted in the Air Force, holding the rank of Captain.

He returned to BYU in 1958 to do graduate work. At that time he met and married Ellen Boyd in the Los Angeles Temple. They made their home in Southern California the city of Orange for 35 years. Jerry taught school and owned a tax processing business. In 1995 he retired to Washington, Utah.

Jerry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. His last and favorite calling was an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple serving with his wife Ellen at his side.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Ellen and five children, Craig (Sue) McAffee, Chad (Betty) McAffee, Jody Vickers, Aaron (Britin) McAffee, Barbara (Darryl) Benally; his brother Cal (Jan) McAffee, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday Aug. 15th from 6- 8 pm at Heideman Hughes Mortuary, 1037 East 700 South, St. George, Utah. Funeral services will be Saturday August 16th at 11:00 am with a viewing at 10:00 am in the LDS Chapel located at 700 East Telegraph, Washington, UT. Interment will take place at the Washington City Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Heideman Hughes Mortuary 435-674-5000.
