Julie Marie Woods

New Harmony

Julie Marie Woods, wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 13, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 17, 1959 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Harvey Thomas Brown and Harriet Marie Markham Brown. She was raised in the Idaho Falls area and later married on November 14, 1980, sealed in the St. George, Utah temple to her surviving husband, Russell Ken Woods of New Harmony, Utah. She was a loving and proud mother to six surviving children- Kenny (Vickie Reule-fiance), Chase (Nicole), Coulton (Tahshena), Jesse, McKelle and Chaz.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving the Young Women and Primary children.

She loved spending time with her family, camping, cooking, taking pictures, traveling, gardening and growing plants in her greenhouse.

She loved serving as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Wild Land Firefighter, Captain of the local volunteer firefighters, Washington County Emergency Preparedness, and the Iron and Clark County Ambulance.

Along with her husband and children, Julie is survived by her sister Anna Brown Simpson, and brothers, Leonard, James, Kenneth, Joel and Daniel. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Thomas Brown and Harriet Marie Markham Brown.

The funeral services will be held in remembrance of Julie on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the New Harmony, UT LDS chapel at 11:00am. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm at the New Harmony, UT LDS chapel and a second viewing on June 28, 2014 from 9:00-10:30am at the Church. Interment will be in the New Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to sumortuary.com.
