Keith Tindall

Cedar City

Keith Tindall passed away December 1, 2012 of natural causes. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 20, 1915 to Lawrence Tindall and Louvenia Wood. He had one sister, Evelyn, with whom he was very close. Keith grew up in Los Angeles, California, during the Depression and started work at a young age. Through his labor in the orchards he developed a lifelong love of horses. Keith graduated from Beverly High School in 1933. He studied watch-making, then attended UCLA where he met Suzanne Hackett. The couple married in 1935, then moved to Lancaster, California in 1938 where Keith owned and operated a jewelry store. They adopted their three-month old daughter, Judy, in 1942, one month before Keith enlisted in the Navy. He was stationed in Maui, Hawaii, where he serviced airplane instruments. He returned to Lancaster where he worked as a Field Deputy for County Supervisor Warren Dorn. In 1975 the couple built a lovely home along the river in Thayne, Wyoming, where they kept horses and enjoyed the outdoors. Suzanne lost her life to cancer in 1987. Keith met Verdi Hooper in 1994 and developed a lasting relationship. The two eventually settled in Las Vegas, Nevada during the winters and Cedar City, Utah during the summers where Keith continued to ride horses. He developed many great friends who surrounded him at his passing. Keith will be remembered as a hard worker, a kind and generous friend and a devoted partner. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Keith's life on February 22, 2013 at 2:30 p.m., at 808 East Lancaster Boulevard, Lancaster, CA. Reception to follow.
