Afton LeRoy Humphries

Roy Humphries, 80, of Henderson, NV, passed away peacefully on August 13, surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born July 27, 1934, in Hurricane, UT as the oldest child of Afton Humphries and Clara Spendlove. He is a Vietnam veteran who served our nation honorably in the United States Air Force as a military fireman for 21 years and as a civil servant firefighter for an additional 21 years. Roy was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for being friendly to everyone and telling terrific stories. He is survived by his wife Katherine Humphries and his daughters Carolyn Powell (Marty), Suzanne Humphries, and Noelle Anderson, as well as his step-daughters Patricia Schooley (Ernie), and Susan Leavitt (Ron). Roy will be dearly missed by his family including his ten living siblings, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in Hurricane, UT on Saturday, August 16th, at 11am at the Sky Mountain Chapel of the Hurricane 11th LDS Ward. The chapel is located at 452 North 2600 West in Hurricane. A viewing will be held from 10-11am that morning.
