ALFRED MacIVOR POTTS (Veteran WWII) Suddenly, at home on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in the latter part of his 92nd year. Alf Potts, beloved husband of the late Martha "Mattie" Potts (2000), whom he cherished during their 58 years of marriage. Loving father to Al and his wife Sandra (Sam) and John and his wife Pauline. Proud and loving grandpa of Michael, Katherine, Mark, Geneviève, Stacey, Jay and great-grandchildren Clayton, Caleb, Thomas, Ryan, Jacob, MacKenzie, Madison, Noah and Shannon. Survived by his brother John and predeceased by his sister Beryl, both of Scotland. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and their families in Canada and the UK. Alf was proud to serve his country during WWII in the Royal Scots Fusiliers and was wounded during the European Campaign near Caen, France, in 1944. An avid reader, Alf enjoyed watching, reading and discussing sports of all kinds and especially relished his winters in Florida, where he was loved and respected by his neighbourhood family all year and enjoyed cruising at least once a year. He will be missed by his family and many friends. A Celebration of Life with be held at JW Hart Funeral Home, 113 Lock Street East, Dunnville, on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the H-N Salvation Army or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
