HUGH ADAM WIGHT Peacefully at Hill House Hospice Richmond Hill on March 30, 2014 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Betty Louise (1987). Cherished father of Lexa (Dale) and Meredith (Doug). Proud grandfather of Marita (Paul), Victoria, Reilly and Connor. Loving companion for 26 years to Margaret McCrae. Brother of the late Robert (Gertrude) and uncle of Anthony (Nickie). Hugh was born in Galt, ON in 1926 and he attended Galt Collegiate Institute. After graduation, he attended the Ontario College of Pharmacy (University of Toronto). He and Betty Louise (Davies) married in 1953. The following year they moved to Richmond Hill and opened Wight's Pharmacy. He was active in the community, having served as Vice President of the Board of Management of the Victorian Order of Nurses, as Vice President of the Richmond Hill Red Cross Society and as a member of the Co-ordinated Welfare Counseling Service. Hugh joined Allencourt Pharmacy in 1966 and remained there until his retirement in 2006 at the age of 79. The family's heartfelt thanks go to the caring staff at Delmanor Elgin Mills, Dr. Brian Berger and everyone at Hill House Hospice, Richmond Hill where he received exceptional care in his final days. Friends may call at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill (4th traffic light north of Major Mackenzie Drive) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Elgin Mills Cemetery.
