JAMES ARTHUR SEDGWICK (WWII Veteran) Died on September 15, 2013 in Barrie, Ontario with family at his side. Art will be missed by Vivian, his loving wife of 70 years and by his son Grant (Robin) and daughters Nancy (Jack), Judy (Tom) and Jill (Alan). His grandchildren Donald, David (deceased), Jennifer, Stephen, Jamie, Janice, Geoffrey, Lauren, Scott, Adam, Walker and Caroline and great-grandchildren Ella, Maya, Ashley, Myles, Maxwell, Taiyo, Olive and Raiki will fondly remember their Grandpa Sedgwick. Art was born on February 2, 1923 and raised in Toronto. He was a proud Bell Canada employee for 40 years and served in Newfoundland in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. He was President of the Bell Pioneers and volunteered on the Ontario Board of Parole, Men's Club of Victoria Village and Youth Employment Services. He was an active leader in the United Church of Canada. A memorial service will be held at Collier Street United Church, 112 Collier St. in Barrie at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 with reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to IOOF Seniors Homes, Inc. at 20 Brooks Street, Barrie, Ontario, L4N 7X2 or at www.ioof.com or through the Jennett Chapel of the MCClelland & Slessor Funeral Home.
