SHABSOVE, Marsha - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marsha Shabsove at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto on Saturday, May 24, 2014, in her 76th year, after her battle with Cancer. She was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Marsha was the daughter of the late Aurthur and Lillian Schanz. Educated at Penn State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Medicine. Marsha married Harold Shabsove after his second year of Medicine and moved to London, Ontario. She raised her family in Petrolia, Ontario, and moved to Toronto for her final 14 years to be close to her grandchildren. Marsha is survived by her loving husband Harold Shabsove, her three sons, Stuart (Maxine), Eric (Angela) and Alan (Sheila) and her 6 grandchildren, Russell, Evan, Emily, Jordan, Mia and Sydney. Marsha is also survived by her sister Barbara Sokolov (Sherwin) and brother Ed Schanz. Marsha will be remembered for her generosity, kindness to others and endless volunteer work for Petrolia Hospital Auxiliary and the Beth Gan Chapter, Hadassah Wizo Toronto. Marsha was a strong spirit, a true friend to many. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West, (three lights west of Dufferin) for service on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Marsha Shabsove memorial fund at the Beth Gan Chapter of Hadassah Wizo, at 416-630-8373.
