RAYMOND PRIMEAU It is with sadness that we announce Ray's sudden passing at home on April 25, 2013 at the home of his dear companion Georgiana Wan in Markham. He will be fondly missed by daughter Sarah (Paul), brother Claude (Anne Marie), daughter from Windsor Denise, and many nieces and nephews, including Phillip (Emma), Renée (John), Marc, Larissa (Will), Lisa (Frank), and Mona. He will also be missed by his many grand- nephews and grand-nieces. He was predeceased by five of his older siblings Henry, Edna, Lucille, Maurice and Betty. Ray was born on September 17, 1936 to Ovila and Brigitte in Foleyet, Ontario - a place that he remembered affectionately throughout his life. He grew up in Windsor where he made many close friendships, graduated from the University of Windsor and served with the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment. He had a long career in education as a dedicated teacher, and as a Secretariat member of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation. Throughout his life he enjoyed time with family and friends, as well as traveling, classic movies, big band music, watching baseball, and having a nice cigar. Since a serious car accident in 2003 Ray suffered from many health problems, but he never lost his sense of humour, gift for storytelling, determination to live, or his faith. Friends and family are welcome for a visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1st at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave., Markham. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Ray was deeply appreciative of the medical support he received from Sunnybrook Hospital and others over the last 10 years, so in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation.
