ROBERT LAW WESTELL BASc, P. Eng, LLB, LLM; Flt Lt, RCAF Quietly in his 89th year, on the evening of November 11, 2013, at Humber River Regional Hospital, surrounded by family. Born in Eganville, Ontario, Bob served in the Royal Canadian Air Force's Eastern Command during WWII, after which he studied Engineering Physics at the University of Toronto and Law at Osgoode Hall. Married in 1952 to Marilyn Wallace, he and his wife raised their family in Toronto. He practised law, specializing in patents, trademarks and copyright, until his retirement from private practice in 2004. He was known and admired for his love of books and passion for language, and he passed his love of learning on to his children. Predeceased by his brothers, Maurice and Alban, and by his sisters, Frances and Lillian. Bob and Marilyn celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2012. He is survived by Marilyn, their seven children and seven grandchildren, and by his thirteen nieces and nephews. Thanks from the family for the wonderful care provided in the past few years by the staff at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre Norfinch, and most recently by the staff at Humber River Regional Hospital.
